The Wonderware Allen-Bradley Ethernet Direct I/O Server allows other Windows application programs access to data attached to an Ethernet or a Data Highway/Plus (DH or DH+) network indirectly. The Allen-Bradley Ethernet Direct I/O Server requires a TCP/IP package that supports the WinSock interface standard. The I/O Server can access data in 1785 PLC-5 (i.e., PLC-5/20E and PLC-5/40E) and PLC-5/250 PLCs directly via the Ethernet. While the I/O Server is primarily intended for use with Wonderware FactorySuite products, it may be used by any Microsoft Windows program capable of acting as a client.
