Wonderware’s ABCIP (Allen-Bradley Control Information Protocol) I/O Server is a Microsoft Windows application program that acts as a communication protocol server. It provides other MS-Windows application programs with Ethernet based connectivity upstream of the ControlLogix Gateway / 5550 PLC and Ethernet, ControlNet v1.5, and/or Data Highway Plus (DH+) connectivity downstream.
This new Wonderware I/O Server is designed to support communications through Rockwell Software’s RSLinx 'middleware' (supplied by others).
While this server is primarily intended for use with Wonderware's FactorySuite 2000, it may be used by any MS-Windows compliant application program capable of acting as a DDE, fastDDE, or SuiteLink "client".
ABCIP is available for use on MS-Windows NT v4.0 Workstation only.
